Computer Glasses and Anti Glare Glasses
This is our full range, sorted by what you do rather than who you are. Everything here is picked for people who sit in front of a monitor for most of their working day.
That is a different problem from wearing glasses for an hour in the evening. Eight hours at a fixed focus distance, under office lighting, staring at a backlit panel, is the hardest thing most people ask their eyes to do all week.
We have 63 frames here, $23.90 to $47.95. All of them filter 85% to 90% of blue light. All of them have clear lenses, so colours stay true for design work, spreadsheets and anything where a yellow cast would get in the way.
Glare and Blue Light Are Not the Same Thing
These get sold as one product and they are two different problems. Worth knowing before you buy anything.
Blue light is part of the light spectrum your screen emits. Filtering it changes which wavelengths reach your eye. That is what our lenses do, at 85% to 90%.
Glare is about brightness and reflection. It comes from three places: your screen being much brighter than the room around it, a window or ceiling light bouncing off the screen, and light reflecting off the surface of your lenses.
Anti glare glasses tackle the third one with a coating on the lens. Blue light filtering tackles the spectrum. They help with different things, and most people who search for anti glare glasses actually want relief from all three.
Here is the honest position: our lenses reduce the harsh end of screen brightness and keep colours clear. They will not fix a window behind your monitor. If your main complaint is a bright reflection on your screen, moving the monitor will do more than any pair of glasses.
The frame most people buy specifically for this is the Shadow Framed Anti Glare and Anti Eye Strain Glasses at $32.28.
What Actually Makes Your Eyes Tired at a Screen
Four things, and glasses only address one of them. We would rather you know that.
1. You stop blinking. Blink rate drops by roughly half when people look at a screen. Less blinking means a drier eye, and dry eyes are what most people are actually describing when they say screen fatigue.
2. Your focus never moves. Eight hours at the same distance keeps the focusing muscle held in one position. It is the eye equivalent of holding one posture all day.
3. Glare and brightness mismatch. A bright screen in a dim room makes your pupil work harder than it needs to.
4. The light spectrum. This is the part glasses address.
So if you buy a pair from us expecting all four to be solved, you will be disappointed. If you buy them as one part of a better setup, they earn their place. Our post on digital eye strain covers the rest.
Fix Your Screen First. It Is Free.
Before you spend $30 with us, spend ten minutes on this. Some people find it is enough on its own, and we would rather tell you that than take a sale you did not need.
Match your screen to the room. Your monitor should look about as bright as a sheet of white paper next to it. Most screens ship far brighter than they need to be.
Move the monitor away. An arm's length, roughly 50 to 70 cm, with the top of the screen at or slightly below eye level.
Kill the reflection. Do not sit with a window directly behind you or directly behind the screen. Sideways to the window is best.
Look away every twenty minutes. Twenty seconds, at something across the room. This is the single most effective thing on the list and it costs nothing.
Turn on night mode after dark. Every phone, laptop and monitor has it now.
Done all that and your eyes still feel fried by 6pm? That is when a filter is worth trying. We compared glasses against screen settings directly in this post.
Gaming Glasses
Gaming is a different job from office work, even though it is the same screen.
Sessions run longer and without breaks. Nobody stops a raid to do the twenty minute rule. Rooms are usually darker, so the contrast between screen and room is much sharper than in a lit office. And in competitive play, colour accuracy actually matters, which is why an amber tinted lens is the wrong choice. Ours are clear.
The frame most gamers pick is the Boreal Computer Glasses at $28.99. It was built for exactly this, and it is our most ordered frame for desk and gaming setups.
If you want something less obviously gaming-branded, the Scholar Unisex Blue Light Glasses at $31.60 and the Sphere Blue Light Glasses at $34.68 do the same job and pass at a desk.
One honest note for gamers: if your setup is a dark room and a bright monitor, turning down the brightness and adding a bias light behind the screen will do more for a five hour session than any pair of glasses. Do both if you can.
Picking a Frame for Full Day Desk Work
A few things matter more when the glasses stay on for eight hours than when they go on for one.
Weight. Lighter frames stop existing after twenty minutes. Heavier ones announce themselves by mid afternoon. The Pacific Blue Light Glasses at $23.90 is our lightest and our cheapest.
Lens depth. If you use two monitors, or you look down at a laptop and up at a screen, you want more lens area to work with. The Anchor Framed Computer Glasses at $35.70 and the Classic Framed Plastic and Titanium Computer Glasses at $43.04 both give you that.
Something you can wear into a meeting. The Clarity Blue Light Blocking Glasses at $34.61 and the Cloud Anti Blue Light Computer Glasses at $39.00 both read as normal glasses.
This collection mixes every frame we make. If you would rather browse by fit, go to men's, women's or kids' instead.
Straight Answers
Are computer glasses and reading glasses the same thing?
No, and this is the most common mix-up we see. Reading glasses magnify. Computer glasses in this collection have no magnification at all, and no prescription. If text on your screen is blurry, that is a vision issue and you need an optometrist, not us. We wrote about the difference here.
Do I need a separate pair just for the computer?
No. These are not task-specific in the way prescription computer lenses are. The same pair works at your desk, on your phone and in front of the TV.
Will these help if I already wear prescription glasses?
Not directly, and you cannot wear these over them. Ask your optometrist about adding a blue light filter to your existing lenses instead. If you wear contacts, these go straight over with no issue.
Do the lenses have a yellow tint?
No. Every lens here is clear. Colours stay accurate, which matters if you do design work, edit photos, or read anything colour coded. Amber lenses hit higher filtering numbers by distorting what you see. We chose not to do that.
How long before I notice anything?
Give it a normal working week. If nothing has changed after five days at your desk, send them back. You have 25 days. See the refund policy.
Which one should I buy?
Tell us your setup. How many monitors, how many hours, whether the room is bright or dark, and whether you want something plain or something with a bit of style. We will name two frames and tell you why.
